Electric Dryer WiringElectric dryers are a staple of the modern home. Much like an electric range, these machines require a dedicated circuit for proper operation. This is especially important with today’s “high tech” electronic components in the new dryers. Our skilled technicians would be happy to install a new circuit for you or repair and existing circuit for proper operation. When purchasing a new dryer, it is important to find out if you need a 4 wire receptacle. By today’s standards a new dryer should be installed with a 4 wire receptacle. The problem is that many older homes were built with the 3 wire system for the electrical dryer and might need to be updated. There are many benefits to having that 4th wire(this creates a separate ground and neutral) and many older systems can be updated for this new standard. Electric Range WiringGas vs. Electric: the debate continues. For those of us that love electric ranges and cooktops, a 240 volt dedicated circuit is required for operation. If you are purchasing a new range, it is important to decide if you need a 4 wire receptacle. Today’s standards call for a new range to be installed with a 4 wire receptacle. Many older homes were built with a 3 wire system that may need to be updated. Our technicians would be happy to install a new circuit for you and a new updated receptacle as well. |
